Water jet cutting
Water jet cutting
From flat glass to mirrors, from ornamental glass to stained glass, the water jet cutting can be used in almost any application. Thick or thin glass, different types of windows can be cut with precision, due to the high-performance machine. The water jet cutting does not generate vibrations in the glass, it does not produce heat or leave sharp edges, so that no other secondary edge processing or finishing are needed. Moreover, both the capacity of the machine to perform exact, precise routing and the speed used in this process optimize the execution time.
The performances of the water jet cutting machine transformed the glass from a material difficult to process in a material ideal for the capacities of the machine. The water is mixed with an abrasive, usually granite, able to cut the glass in the designed area. However, the smallest scratches can lead to breakage or chips in the cut area. With the help of the state-of-the-art technology of the water jet cutting system, the perforation or routing of different types of glass is surprisingly easy. Each routing can be performed with the same precision for both thin glass, and for the thick one. The cutting flow (~1mm or 0,040˝) allows complicated drawings, in any shape and dimension, and it can be used for routings within the glass foil for shower cabins, mirrors and almost any architectural glass component. The water jet is so fine that it is able to create extremely small routings, and this capacity is also given by the pressure that can be attained by the water jet: 90.000psi
